Wild Workout Wednesday: Organization tips for busy moms

My daughter just celebrated her first birthday and we had so much fun.  We enjoyed spending the past few weeks celebrating with family and friends.  I have gone through all types of emotions during the past year.  Most importantly, I have felt so much joy and excitement with my daughter.  I love staying home with her and having quality bonding time together.

Since my daughter keeps me busy all day long, I have had to come up with some ways to stay organized and sane.  Here are some tips that I have for you to try.  These have helped me tremendously during the last year:

  1. Don’t compare your children’s milestones/accomplishments to other kids- Every child is different and they accomplish different things at different times.  This is also true with siblings.  Just be happy and celebrate when your child has success and hits certain milestones.  Our little girl just stood up for 20 seconds without holding onto anything.  Yay!!! J
  2. Relax and be flexible– This is hard and I’m still working on this. I have improved greatly in this area.  With a little child murphy’s law almost always comes into play.  When we are getting ready to go somewhere I always leave a lot of extra wiggle room for accidents, tantrums, etc.
  3. I have started making list of reminders­- Each morning I jot down what I need to do for the day and when it needs to be done. If I don’t do this I will most likely forget something due to the constant lack of sleep.  This also allows you to see how much you have accomplished during the week.
  4. Have fun because time passes so quickly- It is important to stay neat and organized so everything can be in order but it’s equally important to have fun and enjoy the moment. My little girl turned one last week and that made me feel so happy and sad at the same time.  I love that she is growing up and forming her own personality.  It makes me sad because she is not a little baby anymore and she is starting to become independent.  Time is going by so quickly and before you know it she will be in school.

  1. Great tips! If I don’t make a list of reminders I would forget half of what I have to do!!!
